Welcome to the web site of the Kentucky Philological Association, Kentucky’s premier organization for the study of language and literature! For over fifty years we have brought together outstanding scholars and creative writers from around the region for stimulating critical discussions of literature and reading of original literary works. Our annual journal, the Kentucky Philological Review, represents the best creative and literary critical works from each year’s conference and is indexed by the Modern Language Association.

Conference Theme:
Survival
The Kentucky Philological Association invites proposals for presentations or panels of original creative or scholarly work related to language, literature, or pedagogy for our 2026 conference. Though not required, proposals related to our conference theme of “Survival” are particularly welcome. $60.00 for faculty registration; $20.00 for students.
Open to faculty, graduate students, and independent scholars, as well as advanced undergraduates with faculty sponsorship.
Submissions Deadline January 5, 2026
Outstanding features of the KPA include:

- The Phil Krummrich Award for an outstanding paper by a graduate student
